Pulse Rifle:

Overview:
The RX-5E2, commonly known as the Pulse Rifle, was used mainly in the UHOF - Alien war. Adopted in the second stage of the war, the Pulse Rifle had a great impact on the Aliens, especially on the Alien class "Dragoons". Combined with a 2RD battery pack, the pulse rifle could tear apart an alien with it's staggering 75 rounds per clip. The bad side of the "pulse" series of weapons is their slow projectiles. It takes approximately one second for a projectile emitted from a pulse rifle to cross 10 metres. This slow speed could be the difference between life and death.

Background:
The RX, or "pulse" series, were part of a special R&D effort to find a new energy weapon capable of being reloaded, yet be able to take out Alien eggs in less than one clip, unlike the "lasgun" and "rifle". Energy capacitators, within the pulse barrel, allow for more lethal, but slower, projectiles to be emitted, therefore allowing a better weapon to be created. All weapons in the "pulse" series contain various models and types of energy capacitators, from small, battery operated pistols to large pulse anti-tank cannons.

Lascannon:

Overview:
The lascannon is one of the anti-shield weapons available to the United Human Offence Force. Its high strength and energy-drain ability makes it a formidable weapon. Lascannons are basically a scaled-up implementation of the "las" technology also used in lasguns. Space Marines make extensive use of lascannons, and are also fielded in the UHOF heavy weapon squads as a crew-served weapon. Lascannons are also mounted on Land Raiders, Predator Annihilators, Dreadnoughts, and many other UHOF vehicles.

Background:
The "las" series of weapons were first researched and developed in 2079. It was originally part of a plan to enhance asterioidal mining in both strength and speed, instead of using old projectile-based weaponry such as the Trembo-X13. Research on the "las" weapon series, however, turned an unexpected turn. Soon after the discovery of shielding technology secondary to the discovery of the "Ancients", research efforts turned towards finding weapons capable of piercing or draining energy shields. The "las" weapon series was found, even in it's infant stages of research, to be the best weapon to suit draining energy shields. The infamous "lasgun" used by many marines in the first stage of Alien contact was the last of the "las" series to be used as an anti-infantry, or in this case anti-alien, weapon before diverting R&D efforts to shield draining.

Successors of the "las" series of weapons were the "pulse" and "lucifer energy ball" series of weapons. They both proved extremely beneficial in the chaotic, bloody war with the Aliens. More info on those two series in the respected factfile.
